This class is for the dancers-to-be, those with no ballroom experience. learn the basics with high-energy, but easy to follow instructions.

Flamenco Dance is the passionate and lively dance of Spain. A group class includes a warm up for strong posture, practice of fluid arm movements, practice of footwork and rhythm. Simple dances are learned at first and they increase in complexity as students' progress.

Have fun, learn favorite party hustles and keep fit with low impact dance steps. Geared for line dancers who have some experience with the basics; hustle patterns will generally be longer and more complex. Experience is encouraged but not required. Routines are a mix of current and classic hustles. Recommended attire: comfortable clothing and smooth soled shoes or sneakers . Bring a sweat towel and water.

Acrylic paint is a desired medium for many artists due to its drying time and flexibility. In this class, participants will explore techniques and materials to further develop their skills. This is a great class to take more than once to deepen your understanding of the medium and further develop your personal style. Students must provide their own supplies.

Learn the basics of screen printing through accessible processes that can be easily replicated at home. In this course, students will explore color and image using paper stencils and the drawing fluid/screen filler methods for screen printing. Students will create a series of single and multi-color prints on paper while learning the potential of screen printing as a means of artistic expression for creating editions, monoprints, and artist books. Guided by their own interests, ideas, and images, students will investigate the printing process, exploring different methods to bring their vision to life on paper. All materials provided.

Build your skills in drawing with various media to create an emphasis on expressive line, shading, proportion, perspective, and other elements and principals of design. Students will work from scale model art figures, personal observation of self-portraiture and of peers, and from photographic references, learning how to translate 3-dimensional figures and faces into 2-dimensional images. Students must provide their own supplies.

Note that by registering for this class, you are eligible for 2D Open Studio for a small, additional fee. Open Studio provides an opportunity for class participants to work on their work in the studio, outside of class time.

This class encourages you to bring your passion for color, texture, imagination, and creativity to the table. You will learn about the materials used in mosaic and safe methods for applying them to your craft. The instructor will guide you in finding the combination of elements that feels right to you while providing the perfect amount of contrast by adding and eliminating pieces along the way. Bring your old dishes and colorful glass to smash up and repurpose into something exquisitely yours. No need to bring any supplies on the first day of class as the instructor will review materials you may need to provide for future classes.

Taught by artist Alessandra Lipman, and inspired by her personal work, this class teaches students how to create mixed media collages with fabric as the primary material. Students will learn to nurture their curiosity and intuition within this artform and bring new life to the richly patterned materials through this class.

Some materials are provided. Students will be asked to provide their own additional materials with Instructor guidance.

This class encourages participants to take their art through a whirlwind of materials, exploring how they interact with each other. Our youngest class age, this is a great introduction to art for your littlest artist. Rooted in play and exploration, each student must be in attendance with a grown up. Team up to foster their creativity and help your little one develop problem solving and fine motor skills.

The methods taught in this class will support young artists in further developing the skills needed to create dynamic drawings. Learn about the elements and principles of design while applying them to your drawings using a variety of media. Students will work from photographic references and/or still-life observation, learning how to translate a 3-dimensional object into a 2-dimensional image. All materials supplied.

You asked and we answered. We're pleased to introduce this "You & Me" class for older youth and their grown up. During this fun, hands-on art class both youth and adult participants will get to work on individual, or maybe even collaborative, works of art. We'll explore, painting, drawing, and so much more. This is a great fun, encouraging, and low-pressure bonding experience for you and your child, or another grown up of their choosing.

When registering, please enroll the CHILD that will attend every week. A different grown up may attend each week, but they must be over 18+.

2D Open Studio provides an average of 15-20 access hours per week to work in the 2D Studio. Participants MUST be simultaneously enrolled in an adult class occurring in the 2D Studio. Please note that while a staff member will be present, this is non-instructed access to the studio and should be for individuals that can be mostly self-directed. Staff are available for questions, but are not able to provide instructional support. You may enroll for open studio at any time during the duration of your course, but fees are not prorated.

Whether you are new to wheel throwing or already have an established skill-set, this class will help you improve your technical abilities for creating functional work on the wheel. In addition to laying the foundational ground work for your wheel throwing education, you will also have opportunity to explore decorating and glazing techniques to apply to your work.

These youth centered, foundational ceramics classes have tailored lessons and projects for each age group. Students will create functional and sculptural works in clay utilizing fundamental hand building techniques like pinch, coil, slabs, and more. All participants will learn about the process of ceramics, from working in clay, to applying texture and color, and finally learning about the firing process. These are great classes to take more than once! All supplies are included in the registration fee.

3D Open Studio provides an average of 20-25 access hours per week to work in wet class, on greenware, and glazing. Participants MUST be simultaneously enrolled in an adult ceramics class. An introduction to the art of ballet! Students will gain a basic introduction to ballet technique, steps and positions while having fun and making friends. Students in this class will work together on a choreographed routine that they will perform in the Hawk Dance Showcase in the Hawk Mainstage Theatre!

This class is designed for students who do not have previous dance experience.

In this class, students will gain knowledge of the fundamentals and history of hip hop dancing! Students will have the opportunity to work solo and in groups on choreographed dances while also gaining an appreciation for the rich history and origins hip hop dance. All skill levels welcome!

A general movement class to keep you little one moving and building strength and coordination. This class incorporates the best of yoga and dance to give you and your child a well rounded exercise and bonding experience. Guardian participation required for the youngest class. Guardian participation highly encouraged for the 3-5 class (grown ups must stay in the room).

Interested in dance but don't know where to start? Have previous experience but looking for something new? In this class, students will get a taste of multiple different styles of dance including ballet, jazz, hip hop and more! Come learn something new and have some fun! Each session of the Dance Experience will culminate in a performance for friends and family on the last day of class. Each session is different, so this is a class you can take again and again!

Learn to use colored pencils like you never thought possible! Award-winning artist Dean Rogers will demonstrate various color techniques including layering, burnishing and blending. These skills will help in creating highlight and shadow effects for still life and portraiture drawings. Photo references, composition, mechanical drawing and digital editing will also be discussed. Basic-Advanced techniques will be taught.

The Hawk 2D Art Studio Lab is excited to offer youth workshops where we can experiment and explore by getting our hands dirty. Participants will use various materials to explore the unique theme of each workshop. Whether they will paint, collage, sculpt or more - they're sure to have a great time and end with a piece they are proud of. Sign up for one or for all! All supplies are included in the registration fee.

This one day workshop will teach you to how to design and create your own unique platter using a variety of ceramic techniques and applications. You will also decorate your platter with rich underglazes in the palette of your choosing. This is a wonderful workshop if you are new to ceramics, have some experience but want to learn something new, or even if you are considering one of our 6 week classes but want to try a "teaser" option first. All materials provided.

Please note that all work created in the workshop will be fired upon completion of the class. Please allow 2-3 weeks for work to be processed. Participants will be notified when items are ready to be picked up, using the email provided at registration.

The Hawk Ceramics Studio Lab is excited to offer monthly ceramic workshops for youth. Students will focus on the vocabulary of clay, slab construction, pinch pots, surface texture, clay impression and more. Monthly themed youth workshops for kids ages 6-8 and 9-12. Sign up for one or for all! Participants will get their hands dirty and have loads of fun working on special project that they will build and glaze before the end of class. Please note that pieces are not fired until after the class ends, and may take up to three weeks before they are ready to be picked up. Families will be notified when work is ready. All supplies are included in the registration fee.

What could be more fun than getting your hands in some clay and enjoying some wine at the same time? During this social evening, you will learn how to create a small vase using foundational handbuilding techniques. Your first glass of wine is included in the price of registration, but the cash bar will be available in the ceramics studio should you care to partake in one more.

All materials are included in the registration fee. Upon completion of the workshop, we will fire your vase. Processing of work may take 2-3 weeks, and we will notify you when it is ready to be picked up.
This workshop is for adults ages 21+. You must present photo ID prior to being served at the bar.
