Designed for beginner and intermediate skateboarders. Learn all aspects of skateboarding including board set-up, safety tips, history of skateboarding and skateboard graphic design. Young artists set sail for an art adventure! Each day we will trot around the globe or travel back in time to discover ancient, traditional, and contemporary art forms from different cultures around the world! A variety of media will be used, including painting, drawing, 3-dimensional, and more!

Campers will learn about and be inspired by past and present artists that hail from Detroit. The city has a rich history of eye-catching sculptures, breath taking paintings, and mesmerizing murals that have helped to create and document the culture of Detroit. This is a great camp for those wanting a mixed-media art experience that enriches their perspective about the city we call home.

A great intro to all things dance and movement. If you’ve never taken dance classes or are still relatively new to the art form, this is a great camp for you! We’ll learn about healthy movement, different types of dance, stretching and more.

This half-day camp is for our youngest dancers interested in performing. Students will learn basic ballet technique and give a performance at the end of the week based on a popular children’s story.

Along the lines of Saturday Night Live and Second City, this camp helps young actors learn how to think quickly on their feet while honing their craft. Improv actors get to work as a team to quickly develop their own stories based on short prompts. The great thing about improv is you never know how you’re going to have fun... you just know you always will.

Interested in acting and performance and wanting to take your stage presence to the next level? This camp will enable you to take your acting and auditioning skills to a higher level while rehearsing on a real stage.

Diving into the world of music, campers will learn about rhythm, musical composition, and more! What kind of music can we create, and how will we create it? Join us on the final day of camp for a performance full of composed melodies, tunes created with instruments, and even every day objects!

Learn the art of songwriting, composing, and performing. This program includes creative writing, and vocal instruction. Students will write a song and perform with and for their peers.

Campers will enjoy group and individual attention on the basic fundamentals of soccer, basketball, dance, kickball, and gymnastics. P2 Soccer Training provides a professional soccer experience for children ages 6-16. P2 Trainers are from around the world and each holds a professional coaching License from their home country and the U.S. Each day players focus on a skill, how to execute properly and how to apply to real game situations. ITK Sports and Character Development coaches and staff will host the 2024 Hawk basketball summer camps, led by former pro and Camp Director Brittany Dorsey! Register today if you are interested in your athlete learning the fundamentals of basketball. ITK prioritizes skill development, character development, sportsmanship, and offensive and defensive principles. Camp will also include scrimmages, contest, skills and drills, and classroom break out sessions. Sign your athlete up for a chance to learn more about basketball from former professional athletes and trainers. Campers will have a one-hour lunch and should pack a lunch daily. ITK will provide pizza on the last day of camp.

Safety Town 1 campers will spend their days riding around our outdoor safety town, singing, dancing, and doing crafts. Campers will learn street, bike, playground, bus, car, water safety, stranger danger and more. We will have a special visit from our friends at the Police Department and take a bus field trip to the Fire Station. Each camper will receive a complimentary helmet! All campers must meet the age requirement by the start of camp and must be potty-trained.

More safety and more fun! This camp is for our older friends ages 5-7 who have already attended kindergarten. Children will build off of previous Safety Town knowledge and learn about bullying, germs, poison safety, parent and home information, home safety, and weather safety. Campers will enjoy a visit from our friends at the Fire Department and go on field trips to the Costick Activities Center Pool, and Police Department.

The WINGS program is a new program for young adults with special needs geared towards providing both a fun and a learning-filled summer. This camp includes traditional summer camp activities which take place at The Hawk, awesome field trips, and engaging job skills training in the community. Campers will also be working on life and independent living skills alongside their peers and counselors. Campers have three off-campus days and two on-campus days a week. Field trips and job sites are subject to change. Prior to enrollment, campers must meet with program staff to ensure adequate care can be provided.

The playlabs Gaming Camp will give you the opportunity to play like the pros! You'll be playing a variety of competitive esports titles alongside a professional playlabs coach and engaging in physical activities related to some of the games played. You will be sitting next to your teammates and across from your competition while you compete for glory and bragging rights. Do you have what it takes to be the champion?

This camp is the ultimate bonding experience for kids and parents! Playing alongside each other while you train with a professional playlabs coach in a variety of games, and then compete with the other campers to see who the best is. Do you have what it takes to play together and be champions?

This camp will feature non-stop action in one of the most popular games out there; Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. Campers will work with a professional playlabs coach to practice and perfect their skills all culminating in a grand final event on the last day of camp. New and experienced players are welcome!

Have fun and receive the tools and knowledge to become a future lifeguard. Junior Lifeguarding has a strong focus on developing swimming skills to help participants meet the Lifeguarding course prerequisite. The summer camp also introduces participants to lifesaving skills, such as in-water rescues, use of a rescue tube, and first aid, CPR and AED. Participants also have the opportunity to shadow lifeguards in rotation to get a real sense of being on the job.

Skillz Volleyball coaches take the energy and excitement of the game of volleyball and it all into a fun-filled camp. All aspects of the game are covered through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting and serving. Tri-Sport Camp focuses on introducing young athletes to a variety of different sports that could include basketball, flag football, soccer, baseball, and floor hockey. Coaches will teach rules and basic strategy of each sport including sportsmanship and teamwork. Campers will have a chance to learn and compete against each other in games and scrimmages. Campers will have an option to visit the pool on the last day of camp. Extended Care is available.

Hawk Activities Camp is located at the Hawk Community Center and engages campers in a variety of activities and spaces both indoors and outdoors. Instructors plan daily activities for campers including games, NERF, sports, giant inflatables, crafts and swimming. Campers should bring a packed lunch and swim suit each day.

Join TumbleBunnies for a week long cheer camp that is jam packed with fun!

Cheer Bunnies will introduce everything a cheerleader needs to know to be a great cheerleader. A variety of cheers, chants, jumps, mounts, and pom routines will be introduced. Knowing particular gymnastics skills is very important to be a successful cheerleader so we will include instruction of gymnastics skills necessary. This program improves self confidence, voice control, rhythm, posture, and overall coordination. The difference from the first day of camp to the end is remarkable to see the improved confidence and stage presence each child in this program gained. For both boys and girls.

Young Explorers will experience adventure everyday through outdoor exploration, hikes, nature-themed art projects, music, games and STEM activities. The week ends with an OVERNIGHT CAMPING EXPERIENCE in Heritage Park. Campers will be picked up on Friday, Aug 23 at 8am after camping overnight on Thursday, Aug 22. No Camp on Fri. Aug 25. Campers must bring their own sleeping bag & pillow. Tents and a campfire dinner provided during the overnight. Campers MUST have participated in at least ONE week of Camp Pine or Camp Maple in 2024 to register for Outdoor Survival Camp.

Get OUTSIDE this summer to enjoy a week of fishing and discovering the natural areas of Founder's Sports Park. Campers will spend each morning practicing catch & release fishing at the Founder's Fishing Pier. Campers will explore Michigan's fish and other aquatic life, tie flies & make lures, and participate in a real fish fry! All equipment provided. Please send your camper with water bottle, snack, and dress for the outdoors! This camp is a HALF DAY. Extended care is NOT available.

In this informative and very hands on camp, students will learn all about safety, proper handling, T-form and techniques to be successful in archery. Students will gain an understanding of the many forms of archery from recurve, compound and even cross bow, FITA, NFAA targets and rules, field archery, and 3D archery. We will have a friendly competition on the final day with trophies for top archers, and pins for all. Equipment rental included for class but feel free to bring your own equipment. The Hunger Games book series sparked an interest in campers to learn the skills required to survive in the wilderness. Campers will learn the key components in wilderness survival skills. From fire starting without matches, wild edibles, survival knots, wilderness first aide, track and scat identification, shelter building and plenty of archery practice and skills.
